For the sake of this list we are going to pretend like February and March and April were just one big month. Keep in mind I am absolutely clueless and these are just my dumb little opinions. Thanks if u read it

I realize there are some formatting errors but this is just the hand we were dealt

We’re going to start with February because we’re going to cover these 3 months in chronological order

Prisoners

This is a little bit of a film bro movie now but that doesn’t mean it isn’t still a great movie. One of the best Hugh Jackman performances to date I think. Maybeee one of the best movies of the 2010’s idk if that's a crazy statement or not. Anyways if you’re itching for a mystery thriller this is your guy. Really good Gyllenhaal performance too and also Paul Dano is in it so its automatically good

Fury

This is a great war flick. Another example of how great of an actor Shia Lebouf is. This was near the height of his psychopath era and I read he was causing a lot of problems on set. Not important. Brad Pitt can't miss as we know and another lights out performance from John Bernthal. This is a story about 5 guys who run a tank in WW2. They end up getting stranded in this situation where they are absurdly outnumbered and decide to stick around to fight it out. I don't think it is entirely true but a based on true events type deal. If you're into war movies you'll probably really enjoy this. Great performances out of all of the main 5 really

Baby Driver

This is such a fun movie. Ansel Elgort is a getaway driver and he’s really awesome at it. He doesn’t say much and he always has to have his headphones in with the music blasting. I also liked Jon Hamm a lot in this. My only wish would be for John Bernthal to have a bigger role. Easily accessible because it is on Netflix so drop everything you’re doing and watch it right now

Burn After Reading

This is another really fun movie and it is an easy 90 minute watch. It's a comedy but also a mystery type deal. You get a very goofy Brad Pitt role which I liked a lot. I usually dislike Frances Macdormand but I actually really enjoyed her in this. These 2 gym employees get possession of a CIA agents file and then they basically try and get him to pay them to get it back. There is a lot more going on than that but I watched it like 89 days ago so give me a break

Edge of Seventeen

This is a banger coming of age flick. The opening scene is incredible, every scene with this Erwin dude is hilarious. The scenes with Hailee Steinfeld and Woody Harrelson are all really witty and funny as well. If you’re into coming of age movies then there is no reason for you to not watch this. Thank u

Mr and Mrs Smith

A husband and wife are both assassins but neither of them know that the other is. They end up getting assigned the same target and then things start coming to light. I actually don’t think it is worth watching. Not a terrible film but I got bored of it pretty quickly

Dune

Everybody who complains about how slow this movie is needs to grow up. Just appreciate great cinema when it is given to you. Denis Villeneuve is one of the goats and he just keeps blessing us. I watched this a couple times in February to prepare for Dune 2 because I am a huge dork. I won’t go on and on but this is a beautiful film

The Holdovers

This movie is very good but I think maybe a tad bit over hyped. The movie tik tok people were calling this one of the best of the 2020’s which I think is a bit of a stretch. It is a really good performance from Paul Giamatti and the main kid and the lunch lady though. This kid is at boarding school and he ends up having to stay at the school over Christmas break and the history teacher and lunch lady are the only other ones there. Just watch it idk how to explain it better than that. I paid 6 bucks to watch this on YouTube and I think it was worth it

Before I Go to Sleep

This is a really twisty and turny one so if you’re into plot twists you’ll probably like this. Ironically this movie is about memory loss and I don’t remember a ton of it because again it was like 80 days ago. This girl has amnesia and every morning her husband has to remind her who the hell she is. I’m not crazy about Nicole Kidman but I liked her in this. I do remember spending like 47 minutes trying to find something to watch on Hulu and somehow landed here

The Terminator

This is a classic and everyone knows it. Judgement Day is superior obviously but this is still a beautiful film. We’re 40 years later now and the “I’ll be back” scene is still one of the best scenes of all time. Not saying anything else about this because if you haven’t seen the Terminators you’re fucking up big time

The Place Beyond the Pines

This is one of the best movies of all time. Ryan Gosling is my goat. Wish he was in it longer but Bradley Cooper does dominate the second half of the film. Just watch it you’ll like it

Society of the Snow

I believe this is a remake but don’t quote me. A plane crashes in the Andes and we’re mainly focused on this rugby team who is trying to survive in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. They end up resorting to eating the people who are dying so they can stay alive. It's a good flick

Tropic Thunder

This is just a classic comedy. Really really stupid movie but so good and so funny. I think RDJ is the best part of this movie for me. We also get blessed with Simple Jack here which will never get old

Blade Runner 2049

This is just a beautiful movie and I understand almost none of it. Every time I watch it I piece a little more together. A work in progress. I have never seen the original Blade Runner and I don’t give a fuck if you think that’s weird. Ryan Gosling is my goat as I mentioned. God what a film this is

Ok we are in March now so try to put yourself back there for a minute

Dune 2

This is a top 5 movie i have ever seen in my entire life. Like over a thousand smiles that I have smiled I owe to Denis Villeneuve because he just makes movies that are so incredibly perfect. This is one of the best sequels of all time. It’s the best theater experience that I’ve ever had and I think a lot of people felt the same way. Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, Ferguson, Javier Bardem I mean my god they all dominated like you’ve never seen in your life. The visuals and the music will just blow you away. If you for some reason haven’t seen this drop everything and watch it. Call off work tomorrow and just watch it over and over. I can’t wait to watch it a hundred more times

The Good Dinosaur

This is a top tier Pixar flick. Arlo is such a little dork I love him. If you enjoy smiling watch this

Zodiac

This is just Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo and RDJ absolutely controlling our screen for 160 minutes. This is Fincher's 3rd best movie behind Seven and The Social Network. It’s better than Fight Club and I don’t care what anyone thinks. I love Mark Ruffalo so much. Thank you

Eileen

Thomasin Mckenzie is going to be a force for years to come and I don’t really think enough people talk about that. Now with that being said, this is not a very good movie. Actually I think it is good but not great. Her and Anne Hathaway were great together I thought but the plot didn’t really do much for me. Thanks

Fun With Dick and Jane

This is such a good comedy and it is kind of slept on a little bit. There are probably ten scenes where you’ll laugh out loud. Man the collapse of Globodyne is so funny

A Quiet Place

I would do anything, and I mean anything, for Emily Blunt. I love her. This is kind of right at my threshold when it comes to scary movies. I can’t do much scarier than this. I know this isn’t really a horror film technically but I am a little bitch. When John Krasinski screams at the end I got chills. Sorry spoiler. Hence the title, no one can talk or the monster thing will hear you

Ricky Stanicky

This is such a stupid movie but I enjoyed it. Every movie doesn’t have to be the best movie you’ve ever seen. These 3 guys have this made up imaginary friend that they named Ricky Stanicky and they use him to go on trips without their wives. I realize how terrible of an explanation that is but I don’t know how to improve it. A couple of John Cena’s lines were so funny

A Quiet Place 2

I think maybe this one is a tiny bit better than the first because we get more Cillian Murphy. I am going to rewatch both soon so we will revisit this topic. The third one comes out in June which is going to be incredible. Seriously I would do anything for Emily Blunt

Us

This is Jordan Peele's best work so far. This is so creepy and eerie and made me so uncomfy the entire time. The twist at the end is so frickin cool. Idk how people come up with these movies. I can’t wait to watch this again. This is a top tier thriller so if you’re into that then you should watch this when you get the chance

Poor Things

This is one of the strangest movies I’ve ever seen. Emma Stone won an academy award for this and I think it was deserved even though my opinion means nothing. She dominated in this. This scientist brings this girl back to life with this weird little brain operation/transplant thing. Kind of a cool twist toward the end. It’s definitely memorable but i’ll never watch this again

Anatomy of a Fall

This movie is such a waste of time

One Day

This is a show not a movie. Everybody knows about this probably, it was all the rage on Netflix for a minute there. I love this show. Something about how the first couple of episodes were shot was incredible idk what it was. It’s so sad and almost made me cry but so good. There’s so much tension the whole time and so well written. Idk I have no clue what I’m talking about. I thought Ian was so funny. Leo Woodall kind of came out of nowhere in White Lotus and I liked seeing him in another role. I think he’ll be getting more big roles in the future. Idk who the fuck Ambika Mod is but I loved her in this. I will say the middle episodes kind of lost me for a sec though

We’re in April now

Dodgeball

I watched this 2 times back to back in a hotel room in Clemson, South Carolina on April 1st on a work trip. This is one of the best comedies of all time. Earlier I was talking about Tropic Thunder and Dick and Jane being funny but this blows those out of the water. I think that Pepper Brooks is my favorite character in any movie ever. Just a timeless film. Thanks

Normal People

Another show. This is a good show I think. Kind of similar to One Day but not as good. I watched it strictly for Paul Mescal because I love him. I think it’s worth watching if you’re into shows and can’t find anything

Millers Girl

This is a strange flick. Watched it with my pal Ken and he did not care for it. I thought it was ok. Jenna Ortega was really good. I guess the age gap people are bitching about this because Martin Freeman is significantly older than her. Definitely a weird movie

Triple Frontier

This is an awesome movie. Oscar Isaac just dominates as always. I use dominate a lot because I can’t think of any synonyms. Anyways this is worth watching for sure. A very short description would be the gang gets back together to do one more heist and there are some obstacles along the way as you can imagine

Monkey Man

This is Dev Patel’s directorial debut and he also is the lead and he also produced it. I love Dev Patel but I didn’t love this. I think my expectations were unfairly high and it just didn’t live up to them. Also I saw it in theater and I was very tired. I was so bored towards the middle. Probably will give it another chance at some point but not in the near future

Brawl in Cell Block 99

This has a few of the most graphic face smashings I’ve ever seen in a movie. Vince Vaughn is one of the kings of comedy but I sometimes don’t think he gets enough credit for his drama roles. He goes to prison in this and has some enemies that he has pissed off in there so he’s dealing with those struggles

The Little Things

God Jared Leto is such a good actor, I can’t figure out how he was so bad at The Joker. I think Rami Malek steals the show in this one. Couple cops trying to track down a serial killer. Awesome towards the back half and a great ending

Self Reliance

This guy is kind of invited to play this game where he can win a million bucks if he can avoid these people trying to kill him. I thought it was a good movie. I like Jake Johnson as the lead and I think he also directed it. Anna Kendrick was good too as the support. Argyle from Stranger Things is in it for a sec and I love him

Arkansas

I mean this is just so bad

Anna

This is a great movie. About a Russian assassin chick who is working for the KGB. It gets really twisty and turny at the end which I enjoyed a lot

Anyone But You

This is a really good rom com which we have been in need of for a while now. The only rom com that I can think of from the 2020s that would maybe be better than this is Palm Springs. I thought Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell both killed it. The use of Unwritten at the end was so funny. I think it's a fun watch and worth your time

Queenpins

These 2 women are extreme couponers and they come up with this plan to illegally resell coupons for a profit. This is a really funny movie and idk why it doesn’t get any traffic. There are also 2 guys trying to catch the women so we kind of bounce back and forth. I believe it is based on a true story. On Netflix also so easily accessible
