This is a list of the movies that I watched between May and December of last year. There are 87 on here and I realize that is only like 10 per month which is pretty weak but it took me so long to finish Breaking Bad. My god I love movies they make me so happy. Keep in mind I'm a moron and these are just my dumb opinions and I have no clue what I'm talking about

if you read all or some or any of this thank you and I love you

Please disregard any formatting errors you see

My Cousin Vinny

92 was a big year for Joe Pesci as he's in like 4 movies from that year. This is a pretty good 90s flick. I think this is the best Marisa Tomei performance I've seen although I haven't seen that many. She won an Oscar for it. I think that she is the best part of the movie for sure. Joe Pesci is a lawyer and he's gotta try to get his cousin and his friend who were committed of a murder out of jail

Rust Creek

This chick is on her way to a job interview in DC and she gets stranded in the middle of nowhere. These 2 dorks kidnap her and then there is a 3rd guy who is trying to help her. Worth watching if you're so bored

Beverly Hills Cop

This is really the only Eddie Murphy 80s flick I've ever seen. Pretty good murder slash comedy story. Will be watching the 2nd and 3rd sometime this year

The Fall Guy

This is like a perfect storm for me here because I love Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt so much. This is a great movie and everyone should watch it. Its typical Gosling dry kinda sarcastic humor similar to The Nice Guys. Gosling is a stunt man in a movie that Emily Blunt is directing and it kind of turns into a mystery flick. Great theater experience also. Ryan Gosling is the best to ever do it

Devil in a Blue Dress

Easy Rawlins is the man. I don't remember a ton about this movie but I think I remember enjoying it. Denzel is investigating a case about this chick that disappeared. Nothing life changing here

Foxcatcher

I hate this movie so much and Steve Carrells character pissed me off so bad. Channing Tatum headbutting a mirror was cool though and Mark Ruffalo was great as always

Unfrosted

This isn't the best movie of all time by any means but I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Fun quick story about the creation of Poptarts. I thought Seinfeld was good and actually kind of a stacked cast. Typical Netflix original feel

Iron Claw

This family can't catch a break man. This is a great movie with really good acting but it is very sad. It is a story about the Von Erich brothers who were all professional wrestlers and believe that their family is cursed. It's based on a true story but sounds like they maybe embellished the truth on a few things

He Went That Way

Serial killer hitchhiker Jacob Elordi gets picked up by a guy transporting a chimp. Idk I liked it, Jacob Elordi has a knack for playing the villain

All of us Strangers

This is a great frickin movie man. Really good gay romance story. Paul Mescal can do it all, he dominates in this and Andrew Scott was awesome also

Dune 2

I watched this 8 times last year and it gets better every time. This is the best movie of the 2020s in my opinion and I think it is a top 5 movie ever. This is the best theater experience I've ever had. Music is frickin beautiful, acting is perfect. Will continue to watch it over and over again. if you haven't seen this you're fucking up big time and you should cancel everything and watch the first one and then this. As written

Something's Gotta Give

Jack Nicholson is dating a chick that is significantly younger than him. He then has a heart attack and starts to fall for the mom. The doctor gets involved also and it gets a little complicated. Fun story worth watching depending on how desperate you are

Ratatouille

Idk if its A tier Pixar but definitely B tier at least. Remy is the man. Rewatchability is off the charts

The Silencing

Mystery thriller type deal. Really forgettable as I remember almost none of it

Bad Words

This is one of the best comedies I've ever seen and I don't understand why it gets no respect. This is another one that you can rewatch over and over and not get tired of it. Jason Bateman is competing in a spelling bee with a bunch of children. You should watch this as soon as you possibly can if you haven't already

After Hours

A really crazy night in New York. I love this movie and everyone should at least give it a shot. One of the more underrated Scorsese flicks

The Devil Wears Prada

Incredible movie. Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all give us literally perfect performances here. If you've been under a rock since 2006 then you gotta watch this when you have time

Hit Man

Unreal chemistry between Glen Powell and Adria Arjona, I thought they were both perfect. This is a really good rom com. I don't really remember all of the twist but I remember liking it a lot. It's worth watching if you haven't and I will rewatch soon

Slap Shot

Hanson brothers are iconic. My dad showed me this one years ago and I rewatch from time to time. Really fun comedy story about a minor league hockey team. So many classic lines. "Dave's a killer" or "I'm listening to the fucking song" are probably the best

Aftersun

Amazing story about an 11 year old girl that goes on a vacation with her dad who she doesn't get to see much. Really emotional film, I think this is one of the best of the 2020s so far. This is Paul Mescal's best performace so far and he won an Oscar for it. Also Charlotte Wells' directorial debut which is an unbelievably good start

Interstellar

This would be the best sci fi movie ever made if Inception didn't exist. This is one of my top 10 favorites of all time and I don't know that it has a single flaw. A classic Nolan with a great cast and probably one of the best scores of all time also. Cornfield Chase will never get old and there are so many new little details that I notice on each watch

All the Bright Places

This is just Elle Fanning and Justice Smith controlling your screen for like 110 minutes. 2 teens are both going through a lot and they end up becoming friends and then kind of more than friends. I think this is worth watching

Snack Shack

Really underrated movie here, I think that this is one of the best releases from 2024. As the titles suggests it is about 2 best friends running a snack shack. Gabriel Labelle is just racking up insanely good performances and this is another. This is one you should watch immediately

The Revenant

Leonardo Dicaprio gets inside of a dead horse

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

This is my first time ever watching this and I really enjoyed it. This is also the first Peter Jackson movie that I've ever seen and I just realized that he is the 3rd richest director of all time. This movie has 4 Oscars and like a million other awards which makes sense since this is one of if not the best trilogy of all time. I haven't gotten around to watching the 2nd and 3rd yet but I will be soon

A Quiet Place Day One

This is a good movie but I was expecting it to blow me away and it just didn't. Still worth watching but the 3rd best of the 3

Twisters

I loved this movie, I had pretty low expectations going in but I thought it was great. I think it was the perfect mix of similarities and differences to the original. Definitely will not go down as a classic like the original but still a really good time

The Instigators

Kind of the same as Hit Man where it was barely released in theaters and then straight to streaming. This is not nearly as good though. Still would be a mistake not to watch a movie lead by Matt Damon and Casey Affleck though I think. Also I think that Paul Walte Hauser is really underrated and is great in this

Lala Land

I saw someone say that this is their favorite horror movie of all time and I thought that was really funny. This is a perfect movie and yet another perfect Ryan Gosling performance. It is pretty musically though so if you're not into that then this may not be for you

The Departed

I sometimes make some exaggerated statements but this is actually the best movie of all time. If you haven't seen it then this should be the next movie you watch

Logan Lucky

Adam Driver and Channing Tatum rob the Charlotte Motor Speedway. This is an awesome movie and I was not expecting it to be at all

Beetlejuice

Another frickin classic that I just saw for the first time this year. Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder were amazing and then obviously Michael Keaton steals the show here. A top 5 dinner table scene of all time in my opinion. And then the first scene when we see Beetlejuice is hilarious. Soundtrack goes bonkers

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Not as good as the first one obviously but I still loved this one too. I think it was exactly what I wanted out of the sequel. 3 of the main cast coming back and Tim Burton directing again 36 years later was amazing I thought. When Delia says what the fu hell at the end that hit my funny bone so hard for some reason

Peanut Butter Falcon

Another perfect movie, I think I could watch this every day. 2019 was an insane year for movies which may be why this movie doesn't get much traffic but this is one of my favorites from that year. A kid with down syndrome runs away from his nursing home thing and he ends up meeting Shia Lebouf and they are on a mission to get the kid in a pro wrestling match. Again I know this isn't the best explanation in the world but I can't think of how to say it any better. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it but Shia Lebouf is one of the best actors of all time and this is another great example of that

Love Lies Bleeding

Kristen Stewart is a gym manager and there is this new body builder chick that starts coming there and then they end up falling in love. It starts to get pretty bonkers because Kristen Stewarts dad is insane. This is a great story and definitely worth watching. The ending is something

Million Dollar Baby

This won a million Oscars in 2004, another awesome movie. Clint Eastwood is an old boxing trainer and he doesn't train girls and makes that pretty clear. He ends up agreeing to train Hilary Swank and we follow along on that journey

Edge of Tomorrow

This is basically a futuristic war version of groundhog day. I'm not the biggest Tom Cruise fan in the world but he's good in this I guess. Emily Blunt was awesome as always. Cool movie

Inside Out 2

This is a pretty good sequel but not as good as the first. I thought all of the new emotions were good additions and it was funny how anxiety comes in and just completely fucks everything up. Also Maya Hawke was the perfect person to play anxiety

A Sacrifice

Sadie Sink goes to Germany to visit her dad and then accidentally gets involved with a pretty intense cult. Interesting story worth watching

1917

Another banger from 2019. One of the best war movies of all time in my opinion

American Honey

Yet another example of Shia Lebouf being one of the best actors of our time. This girl ends up leaving her life behind and joining this group of traveling salesmen. They go door to door trying to sell magazine subscriptions I believe. Kind of like an indie type deal that gets pretty dramatic at some points

Jarhead

Anything led by Jake Gyllenhaal I'm in. With that being said, this is a pretty good war flick but nothing too crazy

We Live in Time

Andrew Garfield is the man and he is great in this per usual. I though Florence Pugh was great too and they made a good duo. In the movie they end up meeting each other in a crazy way and then eventually get married. She is then terminally ill so they are dealing with those challenges. Saw this in theaters with my pal ken and there were multiple mice under our seats which distracted me a little but a good movie nonetheless

Cinderella Man

Russel Crowe is a retired ish boxer who has basically no money during the great depression. He ends up getting a one time deal for a fight but then wins so he is eventually back full time. Him beating Corn Griffin was awesome and then a beautiful ending

Enemy

I don't think that really understand this movie. As I said earlier, anything led by Jake Gyllenhaal I'm in. This guy ends up meeting his doppelganger and they think it is the craziest thing in the world and they end up trading places. Everything in this movie is either beige or dark and the vibes are really weird the entire time which I liked

Challengers

Brother this shit is amazing. Another one that you should watch immediately if you haven't. I thought all of the acting was incredible but Josh O'Connor was the star of the show for me. He was such a dick. Him doing the thing with the racket at the end was frickin SO SICK dude. That will make zero sense to you if you haven't seen it but just another reason to go watch it. When we become the tennis ball was so cool also. What a great film

Arrival

There are a bunch of alien ships that are landing in various locations across the world. Amy Adams is chosen to try to find a way to communicate with the aliens. The twist is pretty awesome and I don't know how people come up with this stuff. Another perfect movie gifted to us by Denis Villeneuve

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

This is a really good 2000s rom com. Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are in a little relationship thing and they have conflicting plans. The Knicks game is my favorite part

Madagascar

I have a lot of trouble deciding if I think King Julien or the penguins are the best part of this movie

Predestination

This is a pretty cool idea for a movie. Ethan Hawke is a time traveler. As with any time travel movie you kind of have to pay close attention. Still a sucker for plot twists and this is a good one

American Gangster

Him shooting Tango is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. We're following Denzel as a drug lord smuggling heroin into the US and Russel Crowe as the cop trying to take him down. Another one you should watch asap if you haven't

The Wild Robot

This is the best animated movie in a long time

Gladiator

One of the classics obviously. Russel Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix both give perfect performances. Commodus is such a dork. "I'll have my vengeance in this life or the next" such a sick line

The Sea of Trees

Matthew McConaughey in the suicide forest is actually really entertaining

Moana

The best parts of this movie in order are the tattoos moving, then HeiHei, then the crab

Phantom Thread

Daniel Day Lewis is a psychopath dress designer. Great acting but wasn't interested in the story and I don't know why I thought I would be

Best in Show

Really goofy mockumentary about the Westminster dog show. Stacked cast and cool story with some really funny moments. Best line "We met at Starbucks. Not the same Starbucks. We saw each other at different Starbucks across the street."

Two for the Money

Al Pacino is running a sports gambling business and Matthew McConaughey starts working for him. Its going great at first and then starts to go off the rails. Great movie

Eyes Wide Shut

I didn't like this the first time I watched it so I tried to give it another chance and still didn't like it. Who cares if it was a dream or not

It Ends with Us

I thought this was a pretty good movie. It turns out that this Ryle guys is a pretty big piece of shit. Also I am dying to know how they landed on Ryle and Atlas as the 2 main guy names

Fresh

Sebastian Stan killed this role. I've never really seen him as the main character in anything else but I will now be watching everything he's in. Daisy Edgar-Jones is incapable of a bad performance. Its about a girl who starts dating this dude and they go on a trip to his remote "vacation house" and then it goes downhill quickly. Google said he has unusual eating habits which will be pretty funny once you watch the movie. Pretty cool ending also

Gladiator 2

I think everyone who says that this is a terrible movie is really overreacting. Its not amazing but I thought it was exactly what I was expecting. Hard to live up to the expectations of the first but I still enjoyed it. Wasn't crazy about the CGI monkeys or sharks though

Wicked

This is the best musical I've ever seen. Ariana Grande pretty much opera singing at some points was incredible. The fact that they were both singing live while doing the stunts is unreal. I don't even know much about the Wizard of Oz but this is a great flick. Araina Grande or Cynthia Erivo or both will probably win Oscars for this. If you're not into musicals this probably won't be for you though

Equalizer 2

Opening scene on the train is so badass. I think this is my favorite of the 3. Pretty good trilogy similar to John Wick if you haven't seen them

Boogie Nights

Mark Wahlberg is so annoying in this. Bad movie

Bullet Train

Multiple different assassins/groups of assassins are on the bullet train and they are all connected. This is a really good action/comedy flick starring a goofy Brad Pitt. We really need a full movie about Lemon and Tangerine before they got on the train. That will make sense if you watch it

Speak No Evil

James MacAvoy scares the shit out of me. This couple and their daughter go to another couple's house for the weekend and it gets increasingly uncomfortable. This is a pretty good thriller/kinda horror movie with a happy ending

Shiva Baby

A chaotic and funny 80 minutes. Rachel Sennott is at a funeral service and her ex is there as well as this dude that she has been hooking up with who is also married. Quick watch and really funny as I mentioned. Anything with Rachel Sennott is automatically good and Molly Gordon was awesome also

Waiting

Dane Cook is the best part. Funny idea for a movie about what goes on with the staff at chain restaurants. I think this is considered a cult classic. I'm not crazy about Ryan Reynolds but this has some funny moments

Wreck it Ralph

Idk why but I thought the cords of the game machines as the subway was genius. I grew to really like Vanellope von Schweetz over the course of the movie. Good animated movie with some emotional moments

Carry On

A nice little Netflix original. I think Jason Bateman can do anything and I like movies where he is the bad guy. My pal Chez brought up the point that it gets very unrealistic which I agree with

American Psycho

Bateman is a huge dork and all of their business cards suck

Zero Dark Thirty

Jessica Chastain domination. Loaded cast and obviously great story about killing Bin Laden. One of the best of the 2010s without question

Project X

Crazy change of pace from Zero Dark Thirty. Miles Teller in the store scene is classic. I love the 2 kids that are the security guards. Costa is my favorite part. "Sup sistas! Thomas Kubs house, 8 oclock!" best line

Subservience

Megan Fox as an AI housekeeper of sorts. And then like all of the other AI movies there is some malfunctioning. Fun and quick story worth watching if you're searching hard

Equalizer 3

Equalizer in Italy now. Pretty sick. Like I said, you should watch the whole trilogy if you haven't

Joker: Folie a Deux

Not nearly as good as the first but I didn't think it was that bad. It's very musical which I was not expecting. I still don't understand why Lady Gaga gets acting roles. I did think the way they ended it was really cool though

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

This is why Rooney Mara wins Oscars. I can't think of one thing wrong with this movie. Daniel Craig is a reporter trying to solve a murder case from years ago and then Rooney Mara is a private investigator that starts working with him. This is must watch stuff

Easy A

Stanley Tucci is a really underrated part of this movie I think. This is a top tier 2010s rom com. Emma Stone tells her best friend a lie that is overheard and then the rumor starts spreading around the school

Fallen Angels

Visually this movie is shockingly good. I don't really think I understood it though. People on the tik toks that I watch rave about Wong Kar-wai movies so I wanted to see what all of the noise was about. I mean this has like near perfect ratings everywhere I've looked. Will try it again soon and report back

Twilight (all 5 of them)

We are going to pretend that all 5 of the Twilight movies are one movie because I watched them all back to back and they all blend together anyways. The first one is a near perfect movie because they're setting everything up and introducing all of the characters which I enjoy. The baseball scene is just pure cinema. I'd do anything to play baseball with the Cullens. The wedding is cool and then whichever one ends with her eyes turning red I really liked. I love Kristen Stewart. Whoever the guy is playing Aro was a perfect casting. And then we get a pretty good ending I guess. I think I am team Edward

Saturday Night

Fun and chaotic movie about the 90 minutes leading up to the first ever Saturday Night Live. A stacked cast of young actors that are coming up right now. Another role that Gabriel Labelle crushed as Lorne Michaels. Worth watching if you are or were into Saturday Night Live

A Ghost Story

Rooney Mara eats a pie in silence for seriously 5 minutes. Casey Affleck is in a ghost costume for 90% of the film. Another example though of why Rooney Mara wins Oscars

I'll be back quickly with the January list

:)
